Kurashi-no-Botanical Garden Special Program "Traditional Cherry Blossoms

About 400 varieties of primroses from the Edo period to the present day are exhibited in one place ！.

Traditional Cherry Blossoms" refers to a series of cherry blossom plants that have been produced since the mid-Edo period (（ Edo ・ Meiji ・ Taisho ・ Showa ） period, when gardeners searched for unusual flowers among wild species and many varieties were created. At Kurashi-no-Botanical Garden, a wide variety of cherry trees in various flower colors ・ and shapes are on display, and the traditional way of viewing cherry trees is reproduced in a cherry flower bed donated in 2003.
In addition, under the theme of "History of Cherry Blossom Cultivation － from the Meiji Period to the Early Showa Period", this year's exhibition will also include panels explaining the historical background related to cherry blossoms in the Meiji ・ Taisho ・ and early Showa periods, and how the Japan Cherry Blossom Society was established in the Taisho Period and its leading figures increased the variety and made large-flowered flowers popular. The panel will explain how it happened.
